While the Expo legacy site has opened doors to welcome the world to some of its pavilions, the main event and stellar grand opening is scheduled for October 1, 2022. The ‘go-to destination’ in the making promises an unparalleled, smart city feel, fully pedestrianized with 24/7 accessibility showcasing a world of wonder carrying on the magic of Expo 2020. With entry free for all, visitors are invited to relive the legacy of the World’s Greatest Show, however, entry to pavilions and attractions will require a ticket. Currently, at an additional entry fee, Terra – the Sustainability Pavilion and Alif – the Mobility Pavilion are open to public, as well as the Garden in the Sky Observatory. Come October, visitors will be able to visit the Al Wasl Plaza, surreal water feature, Women’s Pavilion, Vision Pavilion, children’s playgrounds and the carousel. Later this year, the Opportunity Pavilion is set to become the Expo 2020 Museum. Meanwhile, District 2020 is laced with plenty of tantalizing food trucks and is accessible by buggies and bicycles within the site.

Yas Island’s latest addition, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, is a next generation marine-life theme park on track to open in 2023. The mega-development project will include UAE’s first dedicated marine research, rescue, rehabilitation, and return center, set to open doors this year. Spanning 183,000sqm across five indoor levels, SeaWorld will feature the region’s largest multi-species marine-life aquarium as well as an array of interactive exhibits and immersive experiences using the latest technologies to recreate dynamic experiences. The central ‘One Ocean’ zone will link 6 exclusive environments across the park, offering visitors an opportunity to explore diverse marine environments while learning how our One Ocean influences humankind. Once open, the theme park will be one of the city’s ideal edutainment destinations for one and all.

Inviting all film fans for an out-of-this-world experience, the Horror Cinema Room by No Way Out is a unique, intimate cinema, the first of its kind in the country. Located at Indigo Sky on Sheikh Zayed Road, the Horror Room features an ultra-immersive encounter for avid horror thrill-seekers. From the spooky receptionist greeting, to the intimate haunted house themed room, the multisensory venue projects high-tech special effects, splashes, flashes and extra dramatic action by professional actors, promising guests a spine-chilling horror movie experience.
