The diverseness of wildlife in Dubai has to be seen to be believed. Internationally renowned for its assortment of animal and bird life, the United Arab Emirates as a whole is considered to be a topnotch destination for bird watchers.
Among the most well-known desert ships, camels, species like houbara bustard, striped hyena, caracal and the Arabian Oryx are just some of the rare almost-extinct wildlife to be found in this region.
Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary
The only nature reserve within the city where Greater Flamingos and other shore birds and waders can be spotted. On an average winter day up to 15,000 birds, including 1,500 flamingos, can be seen.
